Film excerpt from (A) Current State
Focussing on body movements that grow from emotional tensions within the protagonist, (A) Current State gives shape to a psychologically charged human condition. Complex emotions are made perceptible through the body, which acts as an expressive and direct means of communication with both the self and the spectator. The end of the piece takes a disorientating turn as the viewer is confronted with an intimate close-up of the performer. The proximity to the body makes this emotional weight – inherent in all human nature – almost tangible.
